RiaRob is extremely happy that the Baltimore Ravens are in the playoffs (what Steelers?). So I figure that I would try my hand at blogging live from a playoff get together, another brainchild of my good friend, fellow sports fanatic, and event diva, Linnyette Richardson Hall. Her mind stays going. Ok, here’s another episode of View From the top, live from Champions Sports Bar & Restaurant inside the BWI Marriott.
12:59 p.m. Arrive at Champions Sports Lounge at the BWI Marriott. Cool place. I see my fellow sports fanatic, Linnyette Richardson Hall. I set up shop and made the huge mistake of taking a bathroom break when
1:03 p.m. 17 seconds after kickoff Ravens running back, Ray Rice runs a serious coast to coast. In a word: TOUCHDOWN. Score: Ravens 7, Patriots 0.
1:11 p.m. Outside Linebacker Terrell Suggs forces a Patriots fumble at their 27-yard line. The crowd is going absolutely bananas!
1:13 p.m. – Running back Ray Rice takes the ball to the 1-yard line. Touchdown is imminent. This man came to play some football!
1:14 p.m. Fullback L’Ron McClain runs it in for a touchdown and score the extra point. Ravens 14, Patriots – Goose Egg!
1:15 p.m. Commercials are running. Me and the girls are munching on great food and talking smack!
1:20 p.m. Ray Lewis puts the smackdown on Tom Brady. SACKED! No one does it like #52.
1:25 p.m. I am introduced to the amazing Maysa Leak. Yes, people! THE MAYSA LEAK. I am playing a medley of all her beautiful songs in my head. She offers a hug. The goofy fan in me giggles on the inside. I just met music royalty. Wow…
1:29 p.m. Camera shows Ravens owner Steve Biscotti. I know he is loving this right about now. I know I am…
1:30 p.m. Camera shows Patriots owner Robert Kraft. No disrespect but…BOO/HISS! We came to dust your team off. Thanks.
1:32 p.m. I am dizzy from all this Ravens activity. I may actually mess this up. Interception! Second turnover for Brady. Awww Pobrecito….NOT!!!
1:36 p.m. Ray Rice is simply amazing! TOUCHDOWN. Ravens 21, Patriots, BFZ (Big Fat Zero)! Lerkia Lee-Tidball enters the building. Even when she’s casual she is fly. Hey Lerkia!
1:39 p.m. Patriots have possession of the ball, only to be picked off by fan favorite, Ravens Safety Ed Reed. Boyfriend is booking down the field, then passes the ball to another player who continues down the field. Man, I can barely keep up!
1:41 p.m. Ravens Running Back Willis McGahee, who dazzled with the stiff arm against the Raiders Eugene, breaks us off with the shake off. Gets Ravens within field goal range.
1:42 p.m. 27-yard field goal is good. Ravens 24, Patriots, NADA!
1:44 p.m. Patriots have possession. Good tackle by Ravens tight end Edgar Jones. Post that D, Ravens!!!!
1:46 p.m. Ravens cornerback Chris Carr just cracked the snot out of some dude. The crowd takes it there….OOOOOOOOOHHHH!!!
1:45 p.m. Tom Brady almost gets picked off by Ravens cornerback Frank Walker. I see you #41!
1:53 p.m. Upon punting for the Ravens to return the ball touches the back of Ravens saftey Tom Zbikowski’s shoulder and is recovered by the Patriots. Just damn…
1:55 p.m. Come on defense! We do not want these fools to score!
1:57 p.m. Too late! Patriots Touchdown. Extra point is good. Ravens 24, Patriots 7.
2:03 p.m. Flacco is picked off. Come on Joe, stay focused. Stay steady. You got this!
2:13 p.m. A couple of plays later, Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman is running with the ball. Ok, tackle him. Ok, he is still running. Will somebody tackle this cat already?
2:18 p.m. Again, Ray Lewis with the smushdown! Bow down to #52!
2:20 p.m. Ray Lewis is still smacking folks. See my comment at 2:18 p.m.
2:25 p.m. Good buddy Tywana Tyler just stepped in the building. Whoever said girls and football don’t mix, is a complete moron!!
2:30 p.m. HALFTIME. The Ravens are jogging happily to the locker room. Tom Brady is looking kind of sour. I wonder why?
2:44 p.m. Patriots win toss and elect to take the ball first (hmmm, you think?).
2:45 p.m. Nice coverage on the play by Ravens cornerback Domonique Foxworth.
2:47 p.m. Patriots could not do it. Ravens run back punt return and will start at the 32-yard line.
2:51 p.m. Ravens wide receiver Demetrius Williams almost had that! Oh boy, one of the Patriots is being helped off the field…
2:56 p.m. Ravens intercept the ball AGAIN. It is not a good day if you are Tom Brady right now…
2:59 p.m. Near the end zone. Ravens field goal or touchdown is imminent.
3:00 p.m. Field goal it is! We’ll take it. Score: Ravens 27, Patriots 7
3:01 p.m. – 3:07 p.m. Taking a short break to take some pictures…..
3:11 p.m. Man, turn my back for a short moment, Patriots have scored and extra point is good. Boo/Hiss! Score: Ravens 27, Patriots 14
3:14 p.m. Ravens is running the ball back. Halfway across the field. Get it in Ravens!!!
3:21 p.m. What the hell is wrong with Patriots defensive lineback Vince Wilfork? Hitting our boys after the play. He better kill that noise! I’m ready to take out my earrings (if I had some on). In the words of Ed Lover, “C’mon son!”
3:25 p.m. Run for the first down and it’s called short. Coach Jim Harbaugh challenges the call.
3:31 p.m. Commercial break. Back from commercial. After review, Ravens get the first down. Hmmph, say something NOW!!!
3:34 p.m. Willis McGahee, king of the stiff arm, runs it in for a touchdown. I love that man! However, the attempt at the extra two points is unsuccessful. Challenge by Harbaugh is unsuccessful as well. Score: Ravens 33, Patriots 14.
3:35 p.m. Random Thought: I wonder what the Steelers are doing? Probably sucking their teeth while watching this game. HA HA HA!
3:45 p.m. Patriots have possession.Wide receiver Sam Aiken gets his bells rocked when a play results in his head hitting the ground…HARD! Not a good look now as this looks serious.
3:46 p.m. Aiken is back up but everybody saw him fall. If this were a cartoon, the little birdies would be circling his helmet as we speak.
3:49 p.m. Patriots possession. I see they are trying to make a move to get back in this game. Ha! Not today baby…
3:52 p.m. Field goal attempt by the Patriots is an epic fail. The crowd here erupts in serious laughter.
3:53 p.m. Willis McGahee running some more. Ok, I think I love him…
3:55 p.m. Nice carry by Ray Rice. I see a big fat raise in his future!
4:02 p.m. Near the two-minute warning. Oh, the look of the inevitable.
4:07 p.m. Dwan Edwards with the tackle. About a minute left.
4:09 p.m. They decide to run the clock and end the game. FINAL SCORE: Ravens 33, Patriots 14. I told you that the Purple Pain does not stop! To cap off a great game, Coach Jim Harbaugh is high fiving fans as he makes his way off the field . Such a class act indeed.
NEXT STOP: Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts, next Saturday at 8:00 p.m. RiaRob may have to do this again!!!
Special thanks to the always hustling Linnyette Richardson Hall for sending me an invite.
Check out the pics below…decided to do something different and post all the pics at the bottom.
